FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to Some of the Questions We Hear Most Often

Building a custom home is a big step. Here are answers to some of the most common questions our clients ask before we get started.

 Q

How long does it take to build a custom home?

 A

It depends on the size, complexity, and location of the project, but most of our homes take 9 to 14 months from permitting to move in. We’ll walk you through a realistic timeline at the very beginning — and keep you informed at every step.

 Q

Do you help with design, or do I need to bring my own architect?

 A

We’re a design-build firm. Our in-house designer, Shannon, is here to guide you through everything, from layouts to finishes. Already working with an architect or designer? We’re happy to collaborate and bring your plans to life.

 Q

What does a custom home cost?

 A

Costs vary widely based on size, materials, site conditions, and design choices. Most of our custom homes fall in the upper-mid to high-end range, and we’re transparent from day one about where your project is likely to land. Our goal is to help you get the most value at your chosen level of investment.

 Q

Do you build on rural or sloped lots?

 A

Yes. We’re experienced with rural builds and complex sites, including those with slope or tricky access. Site feasibility and utility planning are part of our early process.

 Q

Will I be in contact with Charles during the build?

 A

Absolutely. Charles is directly involved in every project. He’s your point of contact, job site manager, and finish detail guru.

 Q

Can I make changes during construction?

 A

Yes, within reason. We know that sometimes inspiration strikes mid-project. We’ll discuss the timeline and cost implications of any changes, helping you make informed decisions without delay.

 Q

Do you offer remodeling or additions?

 A

Yes — we take on a variety of remodels and additions, from full-home renovations to kitchen updates, bath remodels, and the occasional smaller project when it’s a good fit. Our focus is on thoughtful, well-executed work that improves how your home functions and feels. Visit our Remodeling & Additions page to learn more about what we offer.

 Q

What areas do you serve?

 A

We primarily build in Walla Walla, College Place, and surrounding areas, including Waitsburg, Dayton, and Milton-Freewater. For the right project, we occasionally travel farther.

 Q

How do we get started?

 A

It starts with a conversation. Head over to our Contact page and tell us a little about your project — we’ll set up a time to talk and go from there.

It starts with a conversation. It ends with your new home.

Whether you’re just starting to dream or ready to build, we’re here to help.
